和歌山大学では, 大学生や大学院生が小学生と一緒に実験し, 飛び抜けた研究をする小学生を生み出そうというプロジェクト(スーパーサイエンティストジュニア(SSJ)プロジェクト)を行っている。今回, ムラサキキャベツを題材にした研究を行い, 和歌山大学で開催された「おもしろ科学まつり」の会場で発表したので, この実践例について紹介する。

本研究で, 中学, 高等学校における毛細管現象を取り入れた教材開発を行った。主に, 市販の毛細管実験器を使って, 水, エタノール, n-ヘキサンの毛細管現象の大きさの違いなどを調べた。そして, これらのデータをもとに, 高等学校の授業で毛細管現象を用いた実験を実践した。さらに, 実践後, 簡単なアンケートを実施し, 毛細管現象の実験がまだ学校現場で広く知られていない実験だということを確認した。

本研究では, ムラサキキャベツから取り出した色素を使った指示薬が, 酸アルカリ水溶液に対してどのように色変化するかを詳細に研究した。その結果, 身近な雨水や水道水, 海水の水溶液で大きな違いを示すことがわかった。そして, 中高校生がこれらの色変化を中和滴定によって再現できることが確認できた。よって, 本教材は中高等学
校の酸アルカリの単元の発展的な学習として利用できると考えられる。

今回, 我々は, 小学校における理科・算数の教科横断的な教材開発を試みた。特に, このプロジェクトの中で, 理科と算数を専門とする大学院生が小学校教員と連携しカリキュラム開発を行い, 実践した点が注目される。本稿で, 連携授業のテーマの１つとして毛細管現象と反比例を取り上げた。授業後のアンケート結果を見ると, 実験で得たグラフから反比例の関係を見出す点に難しさを感じているようであった。今回の実践を通して, データの整理方法に関する十分な説明が必要であると考察される。

本研究では, 小学生に身近な音の原理や性質を学んでもらうために, いくつかの教材を提案し, 教育現場で実践した。その結果, 音の振動を伝えるためには, 震えている様子を実際に見せることが大切であることがわかった。さらに, 一弦ギターやドレミパイプなど自分で音を出しながら音の違いやパイプの長さの関係に気付く実験も効果的であることが明らかとなった。

Any experiments gather attentions of students in most cases. And some scientific explanations are shown which are supposed to make the students understand the phenomena. However, we suspect that their questions may often arise from mathematical view point. We investigate on a couple of concrete examples, and present the results of a questionnaire related to this theme.

We performed the temperature dependence measurements of gold ring solar eclipse at Wakayama city in 2012.The observed temperature dependence in 2012 showed the difference of ca.4℃ between full and gold ring of the sun. Furthermore, the temperature and atmospheric pressure at the time of typhoon and cold front passages were measured by using computer linkage type sensors. By considering obtained results, when the low pressure passed, it was clear that temperature and atmospheric pressure change continuously.

The reactions of amides with tetraalkylammonium dichlorobromate(1-) in the presence of DBU (1,8-diazabicyclo [5.4.0] undec-7-ene) and a large excess of alcohols gave the corresponding carbamates. In almost cases,the reaction gave N-substituted acylureas as the by-products.

本研究では, 身近な地域の環境汚染を調べる目的で, 雨水の水質調査を行った。測定は主に, 簡易型測定キットと原子吸光分析によって行った。得られたデータを検討すると, 和歌山や海南市付近では酸性雨の影響はほとんどなく, 海塩粒子などの浮遊粒子が雨水にごくわずか含まれていることがわかった。さらに, 今回, 台風通過時において雨水に含まれる海塩粒子が増加することが確認できた。
