RANTORE: A Strategic Exertainment System Using Location Information

We propose RANTORE, a strategic exertainment (exercise + entertainment) system that uses outdoor Global Positioning System (GPS) location information to promote exercise. Similar to a treasure hunt, the RANTORE system encourages players to move around an outdoor area to collect virtual treasures and coordinate with other players in a fun, outdoor activity. Our evaluation experiments reveal that the exercise was not strenuous, but the game did promote exercise. In addition, the entertainment aspects and continuity of the exercise were evaluated to be high, even when players played the game several times, because the game kept them engaged. 近年，組織における知識・ノウハウ活用の重要性が高まっている．限られた時間・人的稼働の制約のもとで，発想法を実施する際の課題と要件を整理し，複数のマルチタッチ対応タブレット端末を用いたユビキタス発想支援システム G-Pad を開発し，実験評価を行った．Recently the importance of using know-how in the organization as their core competency is on the increase. We discussed supporting creativity, such as KJ method, under restriction of time and human resources. We discussed the problem and the requirement based on human resources, time and workspace, and proposed and evaluated the practical use of multiple multi-touch tablet gadgets as ubiquitous creativity support system: G-Pad.

iPadを使用して各被験者が自由に入力できるKJ法支援システムを用いてアイデアを出す実験を行った.実験は3人一組で,合計9人で行った.その結果,アイデアは周期的に発生している可能性が高い事,アイデアが単位時間あたり多く発生する時に評価の高いアイデアが出ている可能性が高い事が分かった.さらに,最低でも20分はコンスタントにアイデアが発生する事がわかった.

We propose a support system to create opportunities of communication in community of Japanese college students using Android phones and SNS. It is difficult to get to know a community member and to find an opportunity of communication with the member who is not a close friend even if he/she belongs to the same community. In our system, users register their interests freely in the form of tags and the system presents a list of the tags on the displays of their Android phones so as to trigger communication with each others. In addition, the users can always easily understand what a community member on campus takes interest in, by viewing the information of only log-on users displayed on the users' Android phones. As a result of an experiment, it revealed that displaying a list of the log-on users' information improved the motivation to try to find an opportunity of communication willingly. Furthermore, the form of tags was effective for the person who had high motivation for communication.

We have developed GUNGEN-SPIRAL II, which is a system that supports the process of idea generation consistently. That is, the system supports the steps of idea collection, idea sharing, and idea generation. The system is a Web-based system. We performed experiments on the idea generation step using five kinds of computers. The results of the experiments suggested that even on the small screen of a smartphone used with an appropriate communication method, we could carry out the idea generation method well, with the exception of the operation of text input.

The effect to quality of creativity with sampling partial data from a large number of idea cards.

In this article, we propose a support system to create and share a photograph-based traveler's diary. People have a demand for sharing traveler's diaries with photographs and comments to plan their trips or to enjoy reading the travel reports. Travelers can create traveler's diaries by hand-writing and hand-drawing on photographs which they took at a tourist spot using our system. The diary is shared via SNS site. The other users can browse the diary and over-draw some comments or illustrations on it. We performed an experiment in Japan and China to verify availability of our system. As a result, we confirmed that this system promoted additional over-drawing on a traveler's diary and exchange of travel information via SNS site. © 2013 IEEE.
