年間を通した高温がナンコウバイの開花，開芽に及ぼす影響

本研究では，地球温暖化がナンコウバイの開花，開芽フェノロジーにどのような変化を与えるのかを事象的に証明することを目的として，高温環境でナンコウバイの育成実験を行った。2011年5月10日，6月14日，7月19日，8月23日に分けて，2つの条件のグロースチャンバー(外気温区，3 ℃加温区)にナンコウバイを搬入した。その結果，2年連続で加温区では全体的に開花，開芽時期が早まり，開花可能温度及び開芽可能温度の上昇があった。また，加温区において2011年8月，9月頃に不時落葉する個体が発生し，これらでは2012年の花芽数，開花数が減少した。以降の観測では，加温開始時期による開花，開芽フェノロジーの差異はなくなったが，加温区の一部の個体で2012年の開芽，2013年の開花，開芽が加温区の他の個体に比べて2週間程度遅れた。

Effects of shoot position on shoot and leaf morphology of Avicennia marina in the hyperarid Red Sea coastal region of Egypt

We examined the effects of shoot position on shoot growth and morphology of Avicennia marina (Forssk.) Vierh. in the Red Sea coastal region of Egypt. To determine differences in morphological characteristics, we collected shoots from the upper and lower canopies of A. marina individuals in the wild and compared the morphological characteristics of these shoots. The study plot was established in an A. marina mangrove forest. Heights and diameters of individual trunks (n = 14) in the plot were measured at ground level. Then, five shoots with young but fully expanded leaves were collected from the upper and lower canopies of the individuals. We measured shoot length, and dry weight and also area, dry weight, thickness, and Soil Plant Analysis Development (SPAD) value of collected leaves. Our measurements showed that leaf area, dry weight, specific leaf area, and SPAD value of leaves from the upper canopy were smaller than those of lower-canopy leaves in most individuals. From the differences in traits between upper and lower leaves, we concluded that leaves in the upper canopy are typically adapted to high light levels, whereas leaves in the lower canopy exhibit adaptations to low light conditions. In addition, soil-water salinity at the study site was far higher than the optimum salinity for A. marina. Hence, it is also suggested the salinity level at this site may have influenced the reduced leaf size in the upper canopy.

Effects of sand burial depth on the root system of Salix cheilophila seedlings in Mu Us Sandy Land, Inner Mongolia, China

Salix cheilophila Schneid. is a naturally occurring Salix species in Mu Us Sandy Land, Inner Mongolia, China. We focused on the morphological adaptability of S. cheilophila to sand dune burial. For morphological measurements, 32 S. cheilophila seedlings were removed from a community which was in the process of being buried by a shifting sand dune. Each seedling collected included the entire root system. We measured the number, length, and biomass of the adventitious roots, primary lateral roots, and taproot, and compared the morphological characteristics of the root system, including adventitious roots, for seedlings buried to various levels in the sand. The growth range of adventitious roots increased as the length of the buried portion of the main shoot increased. In addition, the total dry weight of all current-year shoots tended to increase gradually with increasing total dry weight of the adventitious roots. These results suggest that S. cheilophila tends to make use of the sedimentary sand layer that accompanies shifting sand dunes. However, there was no correlation between biomass or number of adventitious roots and the length of the buried part of the main shoot. Thus, S. cheilophila does not grow adventitious roots proportional to the buried part. These morphological characteristics of the root system, including the adventitious roots, may indicate that S. cheilophila has poor morphological adaptability to sand dune burial. © 2012 International Consortium of Landscape and Ecological Engineering and Springer Japan.

災害時孤立可能性集落の「不安」と「安心」の要因

This paper discusses the causes of the uneasiness and safety feelings of the residents hit by a natural disaster. For a case study of a rural community with isolation possibility, we interviewed residents in Hirai area of Kozagawa town, Wakayama prefecture about the uneasiness and safety feelings they felt during the typhoon No.12 (2011). As a result, we considered the sense of security and the readiness for disaster were formed by the real relationships of actual everyday routine actions. Thus we found that this balance of uneasiness and safety feelings are very unique to this rural community

中山間地域の自然環境に対する居住者のCVM評価額と保全意識の関係

本研究は,CVM 手法における評価額成立と被験者の保全意識の関係を明らかにすることを目的に,中山間地域の住民に対しインタビュー調査を行った。その結果,地域住民は調査対象地である和歌山県古座川町の自然環境に対して年間2112～3996 円の支払意思額を示すことが明らかとなった。また,被験者の地域への居住歴から環境保全意識を分析したところ,町外に居住歴のある住民は,自然環境の活用に対して高い価値を見いだす傾向がみられた。これに対し,町外に居住歴のない住民は,人為の排除によって自然を保護することが適切だと考える傾向がみられた。したがって,被験者のプロフィールの違いが自然環境の保全意識に対して異なる方向性を示すと考えられた。

コアマモ（Zostera japonica ASCHERS）における地下茎の伸長位置

本研究では，アマモ場の成立地形の経時変化について，コアマモを対象に海底微地形の測量と草体の掘り取り調査と，月単位での微地形の変化の測定を行った。その結果，群落内の海底地形は群落外と比べて10～15cmほど標高が高いマウンド状になっていた。地下茎はマウンド状の地形下において，先端の地下茎になるほど浅い位置で伸長していた。また，海底面から6cmを越える深さでは多くの枯死茎が見つかり，その最大深度は-19.0cmであった。１ヶ月間の微地形の変化量の測定では，群落内の標高は平均10mm上昇したが，群落外では-0.3～0.2cm微増減するに止まった。以上の結果，群落内では砂泥の沈降，堆積が促進され，時間の経過によって栄養株は埋没するものの，新たな地下茎を浅い深度の位置に伸ばすことで一定の地下茎深度を維持し，砂泥の堆積に耐えることが確認された。

低炭素型観光に対する仮想評価法を用いた環境価値推計と要因分析

In this paper, willingness-to-pay(WTP)s for low-carbon-oriented tours were analyzed based on a questionnaire survey. The survey revealed that: the estimated WTPs tend to be larger according to awareness of environment and tourism-based regional development, and frequency and extent of the travels; multi regression analysis showed that attribute of male, older than 60years, and much weight in travel costs give negative effects, while consciousness for environment, history, culture, promotion of tourist sites and awareness for renewable energy give positive effects. Therefore this indicated tourism policies with respect to these factors would be important.

Effect of heating in autumn on growth of Pinus densiflora SIEB. et ZUCC from different habitats in small area

First-year seedlings of Pinus densiflora SIEB. et ZUCC. were carried into two growth chambers warmed 3°C or no to outdoor temperature on Aug. 25, Sep. 10, Sep. 25, 2008 to investigate the effect of warming on the growth under the movement to northward. Test seedlings were gathered from southern and northern Ki Peninsula. As a result, the growth period of the terminal bud in both of first-year seedlings became the same among treatment. Main shoot length and number of needle leaves on second-year seedlings were decreased under warmer conditions. But the sterile-scale zone were increased. It was considered that the growth of P. densiflora should change under warmer conditions for 3°C and the movement to northward for several distance did not cancel the inhibiting to the growth.

Effect of temperature condition from summer to autumn on the blooming of Osmanthus fragrans Lour. var. aurantiacus Makino

In this research, four years test plant of Osmanthus fragrans Lour. var. aurantiacus Aurantiacus Makino were kept in the growth chamber warmed 3°C to outdoor temperature from the summer to the autumn in order to investigate the effect of the warming in recent years. As a result, the start of blooming were delayed, and the blooming period were prolonged under the warming treatment. The blooming days near the last of blooming period became shorter. And, two or more times of peaks appeared under the warming treatment in the blooming period. There were four patterns in this blooming phenomenon: 1) the unevenness of blooming period by different of individuals under the same treatment, 2) the unevenness of blooming period by different of flower bud in the same shoot, 3) blooming from the multiple flower bud on the same part, 4) the one by which those phenomena were compounded.

Structure of mangrove forest on the Red Sea coast in Egypt.

Established mangrove forests along the coastal area of the Arabian Peninsula and African side of the Red Sea are uniquely different from mangrove forests in other parts of the world because of their low biodiversity and harsh habitat of arid and highly saline conditions. Therefore mangrove forests in this area appear in patchy and scattered patterns at mouths of wadi or in sheltered lagoons with rare and irregular flooding. Most of them are pure forests of Avicennia marina, occasionally mixed with Rhizophora mucronata in the southern part of the Red Sea. In this study, we analyze the forest structure of A. marina and discuss the regeneration strategy and the forest dynamics of this unique mangrove species. Three experimental plots of 1000 to 2000 trees/ha were selected from north to south along the Red Sea coast. The highest tree size (6.8m) suggested severe effects of the high salinity of the Red Sea (3.2 to 4.9%) on tree growth. Dense mantle vegetation had developed at the forest edge facing the open sea to protect the forest interior against strong waves and wind. Tree growth was also prevented by severe drought on the landside edge of the forest. All the forests had a dense seedling bank throughout the forest floor, with a very high rate of turnover and regeneration, which seldom occurred in other forests.

石垣島の37年生フクギ林分における開花フェノロジー

フクギの開花フェノロジーを明らかにするため,石垣島にある防風林の 6145 本について 2007 年から 2009 年まで 調査を行った。3 年間で開花した個体は 1781 本で全体の 29%であった。開花個体のうち 3 年連続開花したのは 45% 程度であった。開花性比は雄が雌の約 2 倍で,雄に偏っていた。1 年のうちの開花期間は合計約 5 カ月で,フクギ属の他の樹種に比べてかなり長かった。性別では,雄は春~夏と秋の 2 期あるのに対し,雌は雄と同様に 2 期の年と春~夏の 1 期の年が存在した。個体ごとに見ると雄は開花期間中,複数回開花が見られたが,雌は 4~10 日間に集中して開花するものがほとんどであった。開花誘導および果実増産の報告がある環状剝皮処理を 2009 年春に開花しなかった雌個体に施したところ開花から結実まで至る結果が得られた。そのため沖縄で緑化木として利用されているフクギの植栽苗木の安定生産に伴う種子確保のため,環状剝皮は有効な手法であることがわかった。

Relationship between the Transition of Land Utilization in Amitori Village, Iriomote Island and the Size of Garcinia Subelliptica Planting Around Houses

A typical landscape in each village in Okinawa is a house with red roof tiles, stone walls and G. subelliptica for prefeeting wind. G. subelliptica has been used not only for wind protect trees but as dyes and building materials since the 18 century. Since then, the government of the Ryukyu, the old name of Okinawa, encouraged the people to plant G. subelliptica in the villages. When a village was newly formed, G. subelliptica was extensively planted. Thus, it has been found that the relationship among six villages was clarified by studying the planting and spread of G. subelliptica. In this study, we verified whether a diameter of G. subelliptica had a close relation with the village formation. As a result, it was revealed that the investigation on G. subelliptica was effective in terms of the village formation, where the traditional landscape left in the old village.

河川流域住民における環境認識イメージ分析

近年, 地域環境施策に住民の意見を取り入れる機運が高まっている。住民の自然環境に対する認識は地域特性や個人属性により多様であると想定されるが, 現在の参加型地域環境施策の中では自然環境認識として一括して扱われる傾向がある。地域住民の自然環境認識を地域特性や個人属性とも関連付けながら把握し, 傾向分類していくことは, より実行力のある地域環境施策を展開する上で不可欠である。こうした観点から, 本研究では, 豊富な自然環境資源を有しながらも, 過疎化の問題を抱えた典型的な中山間地である, 和歌山県古座川町を対象とし, 地域住民の環境意識を傾向分類することを目的とした。調査は, 住民24名を対象に, 自然環境の認識について, 1対1対面インタビュー形式で行った。分析方法は, まずインタビューで抽出された環境変化の認識に対する項目のグループ化を行った。さらには, 住民の認識タイプを分析するため因子分析を用いた環境変化要因の抽出を行った。結果, インタビュー項目は, 「森林管理変化」, 「河川の変化」, 「農地の放棄」など, 9項目に分類を行った。住民は, 暮らしの中において居住地区によって, 自然環境の変化を受け止め, 経年変化などの事実をもとにして地域の自然環境を比較し, 現状を把握している傾向がみられた。また, 因子分析結果から, 住民は自然環境に対して「農林業因子」, 「生活因子」, 「土木因子」, 「高齢化因子」の4因子を通じて認識していることが明らかとなった。また, それぞれの因子は, 相互を関連させる認識は起こりにくく, 単一になる傾向がみられた。したがって, 住民が仕事や暮らしの中で関わりのあることがらの中で, とりわけて接点のある事柄に対する認識をもとに, ひとつの環境認識が形成されるものと判断された。昨今の環境施策においては, 地域住民の意見を反映させる必要性が高まっている。住民意見の背景には, 各々の環境認識に影響されることから, より実行力のある環境施策を展開するためにも, 住民参加型の運用プロセスにおいては, あらかじめ住民の環境認識に対する傾向を活かした適切な意見収容の仕組みの検討が重要である。

那智勝浦町高津気における水管理と共同性に関する考察

中国内蒙古自治区毛烏素沙地に生育する沙柳(Salix psammophila)の生育に及ぼす埋砂の影響

中国内蒙古自治区の毛烏素沙地では,自生種サリュウ(Salix psammophila C. Wang et Ch. Y. Yang)を用いた植林が行われている。筆者らは,2008年に現地自生のサリュウを対象に,流動砂丘に調査プロットを設置し,合計36個体の調査対象木の全量掘取り調査を行った。測定の結果より,生育比高の高い個体ほど,当年枝主軸の伸長量および乾燥重量が増加するという傾向がみられた。地下部の成長についても,生育比高の上昇に伴って,流砂に埋没した主幹の長さが大きくなっており,主幹に着生する一次側根の合計本数も増加していることが分かった。一方,主幹に着生する一次側根の平均伸長量については,生育比高が上昇するにつれて減少するという傾向がみられた。

Relationship between coastal vegetation and micro-topography on sandbank at the mouth of small river

In order to establish preservation methods of coastal vegetation at a rivermouth of a small river, we investigated the relationships between grass vegetation and micro-topography on the sandbanks of four small rivers in Osaka Bay, Japan. We set transects in each river sandbank and measured topographies along them twice in September and December 2006. We recorded grass species name and vegetation coverage ratio in September 2006. As the results, no plant was found at which topography was highly variable due to tide level between September and December 2006. Along those transects, larger amount of vegetation was observed toward the river side from the sandbank ridge than toward sea side. Moreover, coastal grasses were well observed in the low-lying parts of the transect.

Effects of pile up of sand on growth and morphology of Salix psammophila in the Mu-us sandy land, Inner Mongolia, China

The purpose of this study is to clarify the growth and morphology of Salix psammophila C. Wang et Ch. Y. Yang in the Mu-us sandy land of Inner Mongolia, China. The thirty-six individuals were selected to dig from the top, middle and bottom of the sand dune. As a result, the length and dry weight of the apical shoot became bigger as the relative elevation became higher than the lowest ground level of the study plot. About the overwhelmed main shoot by the sand dune, the length of the underground part of the main shoot became longer as the relative elevation became higher. The number of the primary lateral roots from the main shoot also increased. On the other hand, the average length of the primary lateral root became shorter as the relative elevation became higher.
