Effects of year-round warmer condition to the growth and phenology of Fagus crenata

This study aimed to examine that effects of year-round warmer condition to the growth and phenology of three-year-old Fagus crenata seedlings. This study was investigated under several controlled temperature conditions of outdoor temperatures altered by -1.0°C, ±0.0°C, +1.0°C, +2.0°C, +3.0°C. As a result, the terminal leaf buds elongation were almost the same under each warmer condition. But, the terminal leaf buds under warmer conditions required more cumulative temperature on growth. Photosynthetic rate had decreased under each warmer condition since June, 2002. Shedding leaves started under each warmer condition were almost the same, but, some shedding leaves under warmer condition were late on progress. And some seedlings under each warmer condition passed the winter without shedding leaves. Year-round warmer condition furthered to increase the percentages of the secondary flush. Some proleptic shoots under warmer condition were longer than Lammas shoots. There seemed that the growth and phenology of Fagus crenata seedlings were affected to year-round warmer condition.

屋上緑化による建築物に対する熱負荷の軽減効果についての実証的研究

屋上緑化による建築物への熱環境の改善効果の定量化を目的に、表面温度、地温、熱流の測定を実施した。その結果、断熱層上面地温とスラブコンクリート下面表面温度の温度差と断熱層の熱流との間に高い相関がみられ、簡単な時間補正のみで、精度良く熱流を推定できることが分かった。そこで、1997年から2001年までの温度データを用いて熱流の推定を行った。夏期の7、8月の期間について4年間を平均してみると、緑化区の屋上面から下向きの最大熱流は非緑化区の最大熱流の7.3%に抑制されていた。また、冬期の1、2月の期間について4年間を平均してスラブコンクリート面から屋上面へ向かう上向きの最大熱流を比較したところ、緑化区の最大熱流は非緑化区の最大熱流の59.0%に抑制されているという結果を得た。

We investigated the relationship between the population densities of aquatic animals and environmental characteristics of abandoned ponds in Aina, Kobe-City, Hyogo Prefecture. The main results are as follows: (1) The most abundant aquatic animal in this area is crayfish. Populations of crayfish in irrigation ponds are larger during winter compared to summer. (2) As the surface area of each irrigation pond decreases, the ratio of the crayfish per square meter increases. (3) The geographical range of crayfish in these irrigation ponds shows characteristics of the naturalization process.

The blooming period and morphology of Camellia hiemalis NAKAI cv. Shishigashira were investigated grown under several controlled temperature conditions of outdoor temperatures altered by +4.5℃, +3.0℃, +1.5℃, 0.0℃ and -1.5℃. The results in the 2nd year showed that the blooming period were earlier under low temperature conditions. There were a greater number of flowers with a greater number of petals and stamen under higher temperature conditions. There seemed that the blooming period and morphology of the flowers of Camellia hiemalis NAKAI cv. Shishigashira would change under warmer conditions.

温暖化に伴う温度上昇がサザンカの開花に及ぼす影響

年間を通じた気温の上昇が,冬季に開花するサザンカ(シシガシラ)の開花に及ぼす影響を検討する目的で,6年生の挿し木苗を野外の気温に1.5℃,3.0℃,4.5℃加温した温暖条件および野外と同温,-1.5℃に調整したグロースチャンバー内で育成し,その2年目の開花経過を調べた。その結果,開花の開始は,設定温度の低い区から始まり,-1.5℃区と+4.5℃区の開花開始の差は1ヶ月半に及んだ。これに対し,花の形態について,設定温度の高い区ほど,花弁数,雄ずい数が増加する傾向を認めた。以上の結果,生育環境の気温上昇は,開花期の遅れと花の形態の大型化,花弁数等の多数化という現象を引き起こす可能性があることを指摘した。

We investigated the blooming period and the morphology of the flowers in Camellia hiemalis for the plants grown under several controlled temperature conditions of the outdoor temperature altered by+4.5°C, +3.0°C, +1.5°C, ±0.0°C and -1.5°C. The results showed that the blooming period began earlier under cool conditions. There were a greater number of fruitful flowers under warmer conditions, with a greater number of petals and stamen, and longer pistils. Thus, the development of flower buds was encouraged but resulted in inhibited sprouting under warmer conditions. It was thought that the blooming period and morphology of the flowers of Camellia hiemalis should change under warmer conditions.

在来種ハーブ,ハッカ・ナギナタコウジュの生育環境保全に関する研究.

本研究では,長野県内の休耕田に生育している,シソ科のハッカとナギナタコウジュの成立密度と生育環境条件の関連について調査した。その結果,両在来ハーブ種とも,トラクターの走行によって形成された耕地部の微妙な凹部に集中して生育していることが確認された。これに対し,両種がほとんど生育していなかった凸部ではヨモギが密生群落を形成していた。このため,両種の生育はヨモギによって影響を受けると考えられた。以上から,休耕田において地表面の凹凸が両種の群落形成要因となることが考えられ,凹地を形成させるという簡易な手法でハーブを生育する環境を保全できることが示唆された。

薄層基盤上に植栽したSedum属植物の相互被圧効果について

本研究では、ツルマンネングサと数種のSedum属植物を混植した試験区において、ツルマンネングサが他のSedum属植物の生育に及ぼす影響について検証した。植物被度の測定は1999年7月から月1回の割合で2001年1月まで行った。また、生育期の平均草丈の測定を行った。それらを解析した結果、ツルマンネングサは、セダム・スプリューム、セダム・ストロニフェルム、シロバナマンネングサの3種の生育に対しては大きな影響を与えないことが分かり、これら4種のSedum属植物は同一基盤に混ぜて植栽することが可能であると考えられる。

Anaphothrips sudanensis の局所個体群における色彩と翅長の変異性

本研究では,Anaphothrips sudanensis局所個体郡内の成虫の色彩と翅長の変異と性比を調査した.その結果,成虫は周年採集され,性比は常に雌に偏り,色彩タイプには雌に5タイプ,雄に2タイプを認め,雌には長翅型と短翅型,雄には短翅型のみを確認した.色彩タイプ内にも長翅型および短翅型の混在することがあり,それぞれ異なる色彩タイプであった個体間に相対翅長値の差異のないことを明らかにした.以上のことから,色彩および翅長の決定は季節的な影響を受けない可能性のあることを指摘した.

流水におけるシマアメンボの移動傾向と局所集団間の表型的差異

本研究は,野外の流水に生息するシマアメンボの分散状況を標識再捕法で調査するとともに,3河川6流路に生息するシマアメンボ6個体群間の表型的差異を無翅型雄成虫外部形態の多変量解析によって評価した.その結果,本種成虫は溜まりに定住する傾向があったが,移住は上流方向よりも下流方向に偏っていることが明らかとなった.また,判別分析の結果から,近隣地域の個体群構成員相互の表型的類似性が同一河川の離れた流路に生息する個体群構成員相互の表型的類似性よりも高くなることを指摘した.

都市近郊二次林の埋土種子相に関する研究

本研究では,都市近郊二次林の林床植生復元材料としての埋土種子群のポテンシャルを評価する目的で,東京都武蔵野台地のコナラ林から採取した表土の撒きだし実験を実施し,発芽状況と林分特性との関わりを調べた.その結果,発芽した植物の個体数と表土を採種した林分面積との間に有意な負の相関を認めた.また,小面積で低木層の植被率が低い樹林の表土の場合,発芽個体は多くなるが,コナラ林に対してノイズ種となる路傍草本や外来草本が多くなる等,本来的な種が減少することを明らかにし,その際の植物相の攪乱の可能性について言及した.

クララの生育する草地の維持および管理手法に関する基礎的研究

本研究では,絶滅危惧種にあげられ個体群の衰退が著しいチョウであるオオルリシジミの食草であるクララについて,その群落の創出ならびに維持管理技術を獲得する目的で,クララの自生していない草地に人工増殖した苗を移植し,その後の生育状況を調べた.その結果,クララの幼植物はススキ等の高茎植物の繁茂する被圧された条件下で生存率が低くなり,また草丈等の個体サイズも小となることが明らかとなった.そして,クララ群落を創出,維持するためには,定期的な草刈り等によって高茎植物を除去する必要のあることが指摘された.

本研究は,風土および歴史的要因によって区分される地域特有の生物相の保全手法を検討する目的で,和歌山市内の分断された緑地を対象とし,樹林地に生息する移動性の高いクマゼミの種内分化解析と植生調査を行い,生物多様性保全における歴史的庭園樹林の機能と保全方策を検討した.その結果,歴史的庭園樹林,半自然林,および新規緑地はそれぞれ異なる植生と管理手法に基づく景観を呈し,生息する生物の進化系列を別にすることを解明し,生物多様性保全に対する意義も異なるべきであることを指摘した.

屋内植栽樹木の初期変化について

和歌山大学システム工学部B棟エントランスホール内に植栽された,ブーゲンビリア,クスノキ,タブ,ウバメガシの4種の樹木の活力度,葉緑素密度,葉厚等の変化について植栽後8ヶ月間に渡り測定を行った.その結果,各樹木とも,葉緑素密度の増加,葉厚の減少などの屋内環境への適応の過程を示す変化を見せたが,樹種により反応の違いが現れ,ブーゲンビリアは旺盛に生育を続けたのに対して,クスノキは途中で枯死するなど,屋内環境への適応能力の差異が明確に把握された.

ヒメシロチョウ成虫の活動空間の整備に関する研究

本研究では,減少傾向にあるヒメシロチョウ成虫の活動空間の整備指針を明らかにする目的で,長野県堀金村において本種成虫の環境に対する選択性を調査した.その結果,本種成虫は,開放的で明るい草地において活動し,地表面が多くの花で被覆されているエリアを中心に飛翔することが明らかとなった.さらに,成虫の滞留密度は微風条件下において高くなる傾向が認められ,本種成虫の活動空間の整備すにおいては,開放的で明るい草地,高密度の吸蜜植物の生育に加え,防風林等による微風環境の整備が重要であると指摘した.

異なる地表面状態の屋外空間における夏季暑熱環境の評価

本研究では,5種の異なる地表面状態の空間における夏季晴天日の温熱環境について,1999年7月9日から9月9日まで測定を行い,WBGT指数を用いて評価を行った.その結果,緑陰を除いて最も暑熱強度が低かったのは芝生広場で,次いでグラウンド,水田,アスファルト道路となった.水田畦上は気温は低いものの相対湿度が高く,アスファルト道路上と同等の暑熱状態にあることが把握された.夏の日中には1/4以上の確率で,アスファルト道路上よりも水田畦上の方が暑いという状態になっていた.

Lammas shoot induction in Pinus densiflora by heating in spring

The potted, two-year-old seedlings of Pinus densiflora were transferred into a greenhouse from the outdoors on February 20, March 7, and 22, 1990, before the initiation of spring flush. On May 22, 1990, the plants were returned to the outdoors. The earlier the seedlings were transferred into the greenhouse, the earlier the second flush started, the greater the percentages of Lammas shoot elongation were, and the larger the amounts of the secondary flush were. In the second experiments, potted seedlings were divided into two groups : 1) 139 plants grown in the greenhouse from March 6 to June 4, 1990 (heated), and 2 ) 237 plants grown under outdoor conditions (non-heated). The terminal buds of the seedlings in both treatments were periodically sampled and the number of leaf primordia formed on the buds was counted with a microscope. In the heated seedlings, more than 90 leaf primordia were observed in August when rapid internodal elongation in the buds occurred. While more than 90 leaf primordia were observed in the non-heated seedlings in September under short-day conditions, the internodal elongation did not occur. It can be concluded that Lammas shoots in Pinus densiflora are the elongated buds, which have formed 90 through 100 leaf primordia under 14 h day length or more.

Relations between lammas shoot elongation and flowering of male and female flowers in Pinus densiflora seedlings

Potted, two-year-old Pinus densiflora seedlings grown under outdoor condition were carried into the greenhouse, which had an adjusted minimal temperature of 18°C, on February 20th, March 2nd, 12th, and 22nd before budding. They were again returned to the outdoors on May 21st. Afterwards, we determined the percentages of lammas shoot formation, the lengths of winter buds at the end of December, and the numbers of male and female flowers in the next spring. As heating treatments in the greenhouse initiated earlier, the percentages of lammas shoots and the lengths of terminal buds became greater. The number of the male flowers in the heated seedlings became more abundant than that of outdoor seedlings, while the number of the female flowers became fewer. The elongation of the terminal buds as the result of the lammas shoot formation seemed to be related to the differentiation of the male flowers. However, the number of the male flowers was infrequent in excessively-elongated buds. Moreover, few seedlings had both male and female flowers in any treatment.
