本論文は,プログラム理解の多層モデルを基に,プログラム理解をさらに強化するための自己説明環境の構築方法論について述べている.構造,振舞い,機能の各層における知識を記述するための説明プリミティブの整理と,記述言語についての考察を行っている.そして,その考察に基づいて,具体的なシステムを構築するためのユーザインタフェースについて提案を行っている.本論文は,オントロジーという言葉を用いていないが,記述言語の整理は,オントロジーの研究につながるものである.

本論文では,プログラム理解タスクを構造,振舞い,機能の3つの層で捉えるプログラム理解モデルを提案し,そのモデルの元で,空欄補充問題について,プログラム設計問題との比較から位置付けを行った.また,学習者に与える認知負荷の大きさについて,空欄補充問題とプログラム設計問題を比較し論じている.そして,学習者の負荷を考慮した空欄補充問題による理解強化システムをWWW上に構築し,そのシステム構成について述べている.

Solving fill-in-blank program problems is accompanied by understanding the programs. This paper discusses how to promote the program understanding with the problems. A student will bear a cognitive load in filling in the blanks. The load depends on how to make blanks in the programs. In this paper, we present a fill-in-blank problem that provides two blanks, called main blank and sub-blank. The load to be imposed on a student' s blank-filling process can be controlled by the relationship between the main blank and sub-blank. This paper also demonstrates an authoring system that produces fill-in-blank problems and an ITS that interactively assists a student in filling the blanks.

プログラム理解学習において,プログラムの理解タスクを機能,構造,振る舞いの観点からモデル化し,そのモデルに基づいて,空欄補充問題がプログラム理解に有効であることを論じている.空欄補充問題は,プログラム中の空欄の設定の仕方によって学習者の負荷が変化するが,2つの空欄の間の関係を3つの要素に分類し,その要素数の大小によって,負荷の大きさが決まるという仮説を立て,それを実験で検証している.その実験結果から,空欄補充問題の作成指針について明かにしている.

Generation of a hierarchical representation for graphic patterns based on grouping

The ability to retrieve by similarity is one powerful way to improve the human interface in an image database. In this paper, graphic patterns constructed as a set of primitive patterns formed from closed regions are the target images. When recognizing this kind of graphic pattern, people perform grouping. The partial patterns formed by this grouping play a major role in the similarity between graphic patterns. Consequently, the partial patterns that result from grouping must be introduced into the image representation as search keys. Furthermore, it would be desirable to have this representation automatically generated. In this paper, we propose a method where a representation in the part‐of hierarchy of partial patterns is used as the graphic pattern representation
this representation is generated from the raw image of the graphic pattern. This method uses the rules for visual characteristics for grouping in humans. First, partial patterns are formed by bottom‐up processing. Then, by comparing the stability of the final partial patterns, partial patterns that do not match human perception are deleted and missing partial patterns are searched for and added. 群化に基づく図形パターンの階層表現の生成

家紋やマークなどの構造を持つ図形パターンを対象とした画像データベースにおいて,ヒューマン・インタフェースを考慮した類似検索を可能にするため,画像データの検索キーの生成に,人間の視覚特性である群化を取り入れ,図形パターンの階層表現を生成する手法について論じた.また,試作システムを通じて手法の妥当性を検証した.従来の類似検索では,図形パターンにメッシュを切り,その特徴量間の類似度を定義して,検索を行うのが普通で,人間の視覚特性は取り入れられていなかった.本論文では,視覚特性を取り入れることにより,より人間の感覚に近い類似検索の手法を提案した.

論理的な情報を取り扱うのに適したPrologと,入出力例は得られるが,推論メカニズムがわからない情報を取り扱うのに適したNeural Networkを統合したシステムNeuro-Prolog/II を提案,試作した.そして,論理情報と感覚的情報を同時に取り扱う領域において,Neuro-Prolog/II が有効であることを確認した.具体的には,感性語のように,記号とそれを表す特徴量との間の関係が明確でないものに対して,Neural Network を適用し,その対応関係を学習させる.特に,複数の感性語でひとつの特徴量を言い表す場合に,有効である.

明朝体,角ゴシック体,テキスチャーマッピングによる文字フォントについて,描画アルゴリズムとデータ構造を提案し,システムを試作し,例を用いて具体的に実証した.この中でもテキスチャーマッピングによる文字では,テキスチャーの変化にともなう書体の変化を示した.そして,様々な絵文字,装飾文字が,基本テキスチャーを用いて生成できることを提案,実証している.また,文字のスケルトンデータを作成するにあたって考慮すべきパラメータについて考察している.

DTP等に用いる漢字フォント作成支援のためのフォント生成アルゴリズムとして,スケルトン・エレメント合成法を提案し,解説している.本手法では,セリフなどの部品データを交換することにより,様々なフォントを生成することが可能である.さらに,曲線をともなうエレメントについては,スケルトン合成法線ベクトル法を提案し,任意の曲率をもつエレメントに対して有効であることを示した.また,装飾文字について,装飾を生成するアルゴリズムについても解説している.

明朝体漢字のデータ構造を階層化し,スケルトン・エレメント合成法を提案し,生成フォントを多様化できることを試作システムを通じて実証した.曲線をともなうエレメントについては,スケルトン合成法線ベクトル法を提案し,任意の曲率をもつエレメントに対して有効であることを示した.また,装飾文字についても,装飾部分の生成アルゴリズムを改良し,試作システムを通じて有効性を確認した.この手法により,そのアルゴリズム中に可変パラメータを取り込むことによって,同じアルゴリズムで,様々な装飾を生成できることを提案,実証している.
