Japanese traditional art works, like ceramics painting, need some skills of painting onto three-dimensional objects. Training is needed for a long time to get their skills. Therefore, it is difficult for novices to draw pictures they want. This is the reason that we developed the drawing learning support system using AR. There are two barriers for novice learners to learn drawing, difficulty of fixing their mistakes, and a lot of cost for learning. Using the system, the learner is able to break through these barriers. Our final goal is to develop a skill learning environment for drawing onto 3D objects. The environment assists a learner to get skills for drawing lines keeping uniform width. This skill is available to draw lines with various widths that the learner wants. To accomplish it, the system overlays strokes by AR, and gives advice using text or voices. First, the learner traces strokes overlaid on an object. Next, the system diagnoses the learner's stroke. Finally, the system gives advice to the learner by text or voices. In this paper, we propose and explain the design of the skill learning environment for drawing onto 3D objects using AR. Development of a motion learning support system arranging and showing several coaches' motion data

Traditional motion learning support systems have a single piece of motion data as a model motion although the data is not always the best one for learners. There is also a fear that some learners regard the model motion as the absolute one. To solve this problem, we proposed a system showing various model motions to the learners. They can select one of the following model motion; arbitrary coach's motion, the coach's motion whose physique is the most similar to learner's one, the average motion of all coaches and the nearest motion to the average. On the system, learners are able to choose one from these four types as a model motion if the system has some coaches' motion data. In this study, we build a sub-system for displaying the finger motion, and add the sub-system to "Motion Navigator" which is existing motion learning support system. The existing Motion Navigator could not display finger motions but showed limited variation of motion in precedent research. Therefore we acquired finger motion data using data gloves and integrated the finger motion data with whole body motion data of Motion Navigator. The new system is called Motion Navigator II. We verified learning effect of the experimental group using Motion Navigator II in comparison with the control group using conventional learning method with video pictures.

In this paper, we developed a fingerspelling motion skill learning support system using data gloves. The system can reproduce a learner's fingerspelling by 3D modelling. The learner's finger motion data is gotten by data gloves. A learner learns fingerspelling by his/her 3D modellings which is overlaid the expert's 3D modellings. In addition, the system calculates differences between a learner and the expert, and gives advice to a learner by text. We evaluated the system's usability by questionnaire. As the result, we found that we have to improve 3D modellings and reconsider contents of advice.

Recently, the technique 'Eyes Control' has been described in the book that explains drawing style of comics. 'Eyes Control' is to lead flow of the eyes of a reader who chases the picture of the panel on the page. According to the book, it is possible for readers to perceive time and rhythm, etc. as eyes control effect in the comic because the author of the comics controls the flow of reader's eyes. However, this is a hypothesis published by the author of the book based on his experience, and no one has proven it by experiments. Therefore, we prepared comics referred to the example of eyes control in the books, and analyzed readers' eyes flow. Moreover, impression difference between comics with eyes control and without eyes control was evaluated by questionnaire. These experiments aimed to verify the effect of the eyes control in comics. © 2013 IEEE.

For this reason, I conducted the analysis of literality of the learner in consideration of sports career. Existing application software for touch typing training cannot diagnose fingering errors. In this background, we developed a skill learning environment for touch typing training that can diagnose fingering errors by recognizing fingers with color markers by image recognition technique. In this research, we developed not only a learning support environment for experimental group, but also another learning environment for control group. We evaluated the learning environment that can diagnose fingering errors for experimental group, by comparing with another learning environment for control group.
